I have three suits tailored years ago for their style. All were/are in excellent condition and they still fit. However, over the last year or so, as I became more familiar with the dictates of a suit's proper fit, I felt that some things, specifically, the sleeve length and suit coat length, should be shortened. I wasn't sure---it's difficult to gauge oneself in the mirror sometimes---but I took them to Myers Park Tailors because I knew I'd get expert evaluation there. And expert evaluation is what I received. Mr. Nassar needed only a glance to confirm that I was right about the alterations I suspected were needed. In our conversation, it was evident that Mr. Nassar is a master of his craft. He's not only knowledgeable, but he's genial, approachable, and professional. I got the same impressions about the rest of the folks working there. It's always nice when the people you seek out for their professional excellence are also people you would welcome at your dinner table. More to the point for those looking for excellent tailoring, it's a great part of Mr. Nassar's professional ethic to deliver the best results possible. As to the work he did for me, the cost was most agreeable and the turnaround time was even more agreeable---eighteen days. When I tried my suit coats on, each of them was perfect! The alterations were so expert that the suit coats looked like they'd been originally tailored that way. Somehow, he made them look sharp and new. I discussed pricing for a new suit I had in mind, and even with the variables of fabric and stylistic touches, the price range mentioned was quite reasonable. Certainly reasonable enough for anyone who needs a good suit that fits perfectly and will last years. For tailoring, you cannot do better than Myers Park Tailors or deal with nicer, more professional people than them. ADDENDUM: Mr. Nassar has done it, again! This month (July, 2024), I went into Myers Park Tailors to have a new sport coat made. (My original intention was to have a new vintage-pattered suit, but a sport coat was more practical, since I could match it with my dress shirts and trousers.) I had strong ideas on the design---which Mr. Nassar met perfectly. However, I relied upon his expertise for the selection of shades and fabric. He recommended sharkskin for its texture and feel. My initial instinct was to avoid sharkskin, as I usually find it too shiny a material. But he took a swatch of the fabric out into the sun, and it looked perfect. His instincts were spot-on. The final product looks and feels great. It fits perfectly, as if it were actually sewn on my body. Besides their top-drawer professional skills, Mr. Nassar and his family are a pleasure to meet and interact with. If you need something tailored or altered, go there.
